============================= Salem is a female Pomeranian who is approximately 4-5 years old, she weighs 6.5 lbs. She's current on all her vaccines, tested heartworm negative, microchipped, had a dental, spayed, has been dewormed, and brought current on flea and heartworm prevention. She's crate-trained and does well in the house kept on a regular potty routine. Once she knows which door to go out out of when it's time to go outside, she will go over to it when you tell her let's go outside. When she gets very excited she might do a tiny piddle, it's a couple of spots, nothing huge. If this is a big deal to you, this is NOT the dog for you. She walks ok on-leash and does fine in the car. She was found neglected in a pretty filthy and flea-ridden state on a dead-end street near woods. The people living there stated she had been running around stray for quite awhile, no one claimed her. They said some folks moved away and they think she may have been left by them when they took off. She's been in foster care ever since and after being cleaned up and vetted, doing quite well. She can be a bit timid when first meeting people, but given time warms up and then likes to snuggle. An ideal home for her will be a loving one with positive small dog experience and financially capable of providing regular and routine veterinary care and grooming. She is maintained indoors and the adoptive family must be willing to do so. A fenced in yard is a must, with a fence in good condition, no homes with small children please. She is dog-friendly, as long as they are not pushy, and is also cat tolerant. She's an active girl and would do well with someone who is active, e.g. frequent walks and socializing with her. She's not particularly yappy, but she will vocalize when she hears a car in the driveway, someone at the door, or if she's in her kennel and needs to go potty. She's currently fed a grain-free dry kibble twice a day. Professional grooming for a dog her size can run from $40-$65 depending on where you go, please factor this cost into her care when considering adoption. Overall, Salem is a very happy-go-lucky little girl, a bit of a dork at times, who can have her feisty moments but they are usually playful ones. She's a sweet ball of fluff who needs someone who will give her the appropriate amount of attention and care without allowing her to railroad everything. Lots of dog, in a little package. Her adoption fee is $150. If you rent, must be willing to allow verification with landlord that an animal is allowed in the residence. Veterinary records will be supplied as part of her adoption. If you are seriously interested in adoption, please complete an application by going here: http://tomballsos.rescuegroups.org/forms/form_humanverify?formid=2481. No meetings will take place without a completed application.
