This poor girl was out on the streets in a bad neighborhood in Houston, Texas.  A rescuer took her in and she is now looking for a family that won't toss her out to fend for herself.

She is a cockapoo (cocker spaniel/poodle mix).  She is spayed and microchipped.  She is current on vaccinations.  She is heartworm negative (but was positive in the past and was successfully treated).

She wants to be a lap dog.  She loves attention, and is very loyal.  She is a sweet, cuddle dog.  She would be a great pet for someone who wants a side kick.  She will follow you everywhere and is happiest being close to her master.

She seems to like being around children and puppies.  She can be a silly girl who likes to run and play.  She also loves treats.  She enjoys her baths and is easy to groom.

She is not very happy about being in a crate, but she will tolerate it.

She mostly ignores other dogs, but given her history of not having an owner, she becomes very bonded to her "person".  Because of this, she would be best as an only dog; she can become jealous of another dog, and can become possessive of her "person".  Because of this, she would be best with children that are 10 and older.

We haven't seen her around cats yet, but given her more low-key personality think that she would probably be ok with them.

She does have a limp on her left leg that we had checked out by the vet.  She has an old injury to her right hip.  Nothing can be done about it at this time.  Maybe, years from now, she might need to be on some medicine to help with the stiffness or arthritis if she develops that.

She has very selective hearing and is good at ignoring what she wants to.  A vet check confirmed that she does not have hearing issues.  :-)  But, she is obedient, and will follow commands.

Her adoption fee is $100.
