=============================
Ritsu is a bundle of fun. She is very vocal, curious, and outgoing. She's approximately 18 months old and weighs 50 lbs, she is a petite dog but solidly built, and very strong. She is crate-trained and does well in the house as long as she is kept on a regular potty schedule. She is currently in foster care, fed 2x a day a grain free dog food.

She rides well in the car, walks decently on-leash, may pull a bit, so working on that part, and has a habit of jumping up on folks, so working on that too. She has a VERY thick coat and will require brushing out a couple times of week, although she does not give you too much trouble to bathe, does alright being brushed out. She gets along with other dogs, cat curious, but has not shown any aggression towards them. We are working on manners, she's a young dog, and her new family has to be willing to continue to help her develop into a well-behaved adult.

With proper training, she'd be a great hiking, running, walking companion and then wonderful for "couch time" afterwards. She's a VERY intelligent girl, almost too much, and has a stubborn streak.

Seeking a loving and responsible home environment that has previous dog-parenting experience with large breed active dogs. You should understand the Husky breed and level of responsbility they require as far as ongoing caring.

She is current on all of her vaccines, dewormed, spayed, current on flea/tick prevention, micro-chipped, she tested heartworm negative.

She is used to being indoors in the air conditioning and her new family should be willing to maintain her as such. You should have prior experience being a pet parent to a dog this size, a realistic understanding of the cost associated with caring for a Husky family member, the time needed, and financial ability to do so.  Experience with similar "working breeds" is good, e.g. Labradors, German Shepherds, Rotties, etc. Huskies are normally very social animals and they like to be with their families, they are not "wolves", they are happiest when they have a loving family that makes them feel like a part of that family.

Please ensure that you do your research on the Husky breed, they are wonderful family members when cared for properly, but if not handled correctly in a positive manner, their "cuteness" can become an issue. They are not dogs that do well when left alone outdoors without supervision, they are very smart dogs and will quickly find ways to entertain themselves that may not be quite what you want when they get bored. They shed (blow their coats) usually twice a year, if you do not want a mess, you should be willing to brush them out at least once a week. Bathing twice a month is usually fine as they do not hold odors the way most dogs do. Huskies are NEVER to be shaved, the double coat they have serves to keep them warm in cold weather and cool in hot weather, shaving it ruins the coat.

Your home should have a fenced in yard, minimum six feet high, should be in good condition with no gaps where a dog might be able to dig under or go through.

Her adoption fee is $175, veterinary records will be supplied as part of her adoption. If you are seriously interested in adoption, please complete an application by going here: http://tomballsos.rescuegroups.org/forms/form_humanverify?formid=2481.

No meetings will take place without a completed application. If you have any questions, email her foster at snodogcrazee@yahoo.com
