She is very playful and loving, purrs loudly when petted and rolls over to get belly rubs.  She watches me work around the house and occasionally calls out to let me know that she’s there.  Since her meow sounds like her name, her previous owner named her Maui.  She has been a little shy since leaving her home and a little cautious when you approach her but that quickly goes away with gentle petting and kind voice.
Maui was rescued by her previous owner from the Galveston County animal shelter.  She was the mother of a litter of kittens, Kiwi being one of them.  Kiwi was the last of the litter that was adopted and Maui was left alone.  While Kiwi’s adopter was filling out papers, Maui was calling and calling pitifully for her kitten.  She wasn’t left behind; the adopter couldn’t leave her after that.  After a year of living a wonderful life with her owner and Kiwi, her owner was transferred to Hawaii and could not take them with her because of the quarantine issues involved.
Maui is spayed, declawed and has all of her shots.  She is very calm and very well disciplined and loves to sit next to you for companionship.

vet care performed include feline vaccinations including rabies if old enough , spay/neuter, testing for feline leuklemia/ aids, microchiping and deworming
