Wren is a female, per the vet she is approximately 7-8 yrs old. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, and approx. 8 lbs.
House-trained, crate-trained (if crated she will bark/whine to let you know she needs to be let out to go potty). Walks well on-leash, does good in the car, and likes to either ride sitting in the passenger seat and looking out the window or if someone is in the passenger seat, she likes to sit in their lap and look out the window. She is all lap girl, loves her belly-rubs, and pretty social with people and other dogs as long as the dogs are not too pushy.
She is curious and has that terrier tenacity. The ideal home for Wren will be a calm home that is familiar with small dogs who do not realize that they are in fact small dogs. Although she is okay with children, the preference for this girl is with a family who does not have small children in the home where she can be the baby. A fenced yard is a must and it must be in good condition, no gaps, no holes, she will "explore" if she can get through a small space (terrier thing...).
She would be a great companion for a responsible and loving empty-nester couple or a stable and committed mature single person who has some love to share with a furball. She is maintained indoors and is used to sleeping on her bed in a crate in a bedroom, though she will try to convince you that she belongs on the bed with you.
In her middle-age, she is over the puppy stuff, but still active enough that she does enjoy her walks and accompanying folks on their errands. Be aware that these type of dogs need regular grooming, their hair (which is similar to human) will grow out long, and can become quickly matted if not regularly groomed or brushed. Professional grooming (clipping) done every 6-8 weeks is usually about right to maintain a basic cut, the cost can range anywhere from $40-$65 for clipping and bathing at a grooming salon. If you are considering adopting her, please factor this into making your decision, that you will be committed and are able financially to see that she receives the proper grooming this type of dog generally requires along with her routine preventative care and vetting. Will not ship dog, local adoption only.
